What can we say about Jerry's ride to Palestine to see the Dogwood 's in bloom, simply put RAIN!!!!! We got up Saturday morning to scattered rain all over North East Texas, and after making a few calls it was easy to see that the Palestine ride would not be happening. The first to bow out would be none other than the leader for the day, Jerry Crawford. I must admit that I was relieved when he said that he wasn't up to a day of riding in the rain. I know for sure that he would have gotten a chance to rid himself of that Goody hat had we made the ride. There were several of us that showed up at the meeting place, for whatever reason. The only thing is that most of us were in our cars!!! Tommie and Judy Elliot rode over with us, and we met up with Jody and Eleanor Schwaiger there in the parking lot. Seems the only person brave enough to venture out on the bike this day, would be Joe Stone, a gentleman that was going to visit our Chapter and join us for the ride. I must admit that it looked bad for us that he showed up on his bike, and all of G2 had backed out, and to make it even worse he had rode in from Arlington!! He said that he didn't get any rain until he was about 2 miles from the meeting place, and that he was surprised that it was so far out here. We were glad to get to meet Joe, and hope that he will join us again someday when the weather is more enjoyable. Anyway we all got in to Denny's and had breakfast, visited a bit and then we all went our separate ways. Kathy and I, along with the Elliots headed our in our Blazer to do some raoming and a little shopping (no buying, just shopping). We had a good day our, and it gave us a chance to get to know each other a little better. It seems that even on the days that we can't get our bikes out we can still have a good time, as long as we have some of our friends with us. Maybe sometime in the near future we will be able to make it down to Palestine on the bikes. It is a good ride down there, and there is some good scenery out there. Till next time.
