            Garland Texas is our final show before the Christmas Holidays.  Megan gives her owners an amazing gift.  She cleans up the Springer ring with Winners Bitch every day for an additional 4 points.  The wrapping on the present was 3 Best Opposite Awards.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanakuh, and Happy New Year to all of our friends and family.

            December 2 - 5, Lone Star K.C.  While bringing out a lot of young dogs we continue keeping Jasper at the top of the rankings.  Watch for us in the new year.

            Katy Texas in November proves our newest winner Sierra, Ch. Wufpak Sierra Rojo.  Jasper remains at the top of his game by taking Best of Breed.  Thank you Sonya for letting us show Sierra to a win he so deserves. 

Karen's husband lost his battle with cancer and passed away on November 7th.  He is survived by his wife, Karen, daughter Paula, son Kenney, daughter Christina, grandchildren: Briana, Jonathan, and Ashley.  Our prayers are with Karen, her family and friends as they recover from such a terrible loss.

            The Doberman Nationals was a great opportunity to visit friends, meet new ones and learn about dobes in other countries.  We had a very nice showing with Ch. Leilani's Kit Kat n Legard, Ch. Leilani's Dangerous Curves, Ch. Leilani's Oh Henry n Legard, Ch. Leilani's Envy by deRay, Octellos Forever in Blue Jeans, Keri, Leilani's Puddle Jumper, Leilani's American Spirit, and Ch. O's Hot Fudge Sundae.  Our most impressive win was Clyde, In't/Nat'l/SKC/UCICB/Ch. Leilani's Kauai CDX,OA,OAJ,HIT,HIC,AAT,CGC,SCD.  Clyde took second place in the Veterans class at the young age of 11 years 7 months.  Thank you Leilani Dobermans for such outstanding quality!

            We start off in Austin Texas, October 29th.  Ch. Signets Forever in Blue Jeans is awarded Best of Breed over 6 specials.  Apparently the holiday did him well.  Thank you Judges R. Hartinger and S.J. Hubbell.  Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani is also awarded Best of Breed this weekend.  We would like to thank Erin Roberts for taking such good care of Jasper while we were away. And thank you for continuing his winning streak in our absence. 

On a personal note, some terrible news awated us on our return. After many tests Karen's husband , Ron, was finally diagnosed with cancer on the Septemer 16th.  We wish her and her family the best.

            After working hard we have decided to let our companions take a break.  Ken, Marcy, and Karen are off to Western Australia.  Our goal is to find an outstanding, awesome, Basenji to bring back to the U.S.  Marcy has expectations of an award winning young lady to take the AKC ring by storm.  After two months of research and, of course, holiday, we found our AWESOME BLOSSOM!

Barton.  Continuing to recognize this boys outstanding qualities has kept his owners competely elated!  Thank you Jasper for your never ending devotion!

            San Antonio, July 14 - 17, keeps us on our toes. Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani offers his bows to Judges C. Trotter, B. Krause, A. Krause, and H. Clark who collectively awarded Jasper Best of Breed.  Megan, Spring Spaniel, still outshines the competition as she takes her second major in her second show under Judge B. Krause!  Dansen Springer Spaniels make a huge showing with Gunner, Anha, Ocho, Gunther, Mia, Momo, Freedom, and Noche showing their true colors.  Congratulations to all the winners for an outstanding performance!

            July is a huge month for showing and winning from Paws Up Performance Site.  Oklahoma City finds IWH, Ann-e, taking Winners Bitch and Best Opposite each and every day.  She gains 7 more points; including a major towards her championship.  Shayla shines in the Dobe ring under Judge L. Mapes gaining another point as well.   Let's not forget Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani, German Pinscher. He earns Best of Breed awards under Judges E. Biven, M. Billings, N. Kenney and L. Mapes to gain 12 more breed points. Thank you to Ken and Karen as well as the owners for their continued support!

            We end our circuit in Little Rock Arkansas.  Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani takes two more Best of Breed wins.  Naranja continues with another winner. Good on ya!

            June 18th keeps us up North in Ft. Dodge Iowa.  Jasper takes Best of Breed under judges A. Krause and Greathouse.  Jake cleans up with another Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Breed under Judge A. Krause.  Ch. Dansens Gunner continues his winning as well as Naranja keeping up to true form.  Congratulations to all of our winners!

            In June our sights are on Missouri.  We start in Gray  Summit and continue on to Moberly.   We spring into action with the Dansen Springer Spaniels.  Ch. Dansens Gunner takes Best of Breed while Anha is awarded Winners Bitch.  In the German Pinscher arena, Jasper is awarded Best of Breed every day and topping it off with two Group 4 placements.  The Doberman ring is a big hit as well.  Jake takes Winner Dog and Best of Winners in a clean sweep - he acquires 8 points to start off his championship. In Moberly, Keri takes Winners Bitch/Best of Winners and Best of Breed under Judge J. Ropollo.  Her brother, Oliver, can't let her get a one up so her repeats her performance on Sunday!  And it's Off With the Hounds - Ch. Signet's Forever in Blue Jeans, Basenji, takes Best of Breed each day.  He leads the pack with a Group 2 under Judges Mowbray Morgan, J. Lester; Group 4 under judges A. Pepper and J. Ropollo.  Ann-e, IWH, gains 2 more points from the Open class.  PAWS UP to all of our big winners and their owners!  Congratulations to Ken and Karen for continuing their hard work!

            Harriman TN, May 28-29, give Wilson, Ch. Signets Forever in Blue Jeans, a time to shine.  Wilson takes Best of Breed both days.  Under Judge Jane Ropollo he takes a Group 3 and under Judge Greathouse he takes a group 4.  Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani takes Best of Breed under Mr. and Mrs. Edd Bivin to keep him at the top!   Thank you judges for recognizing our outstanding specials!
 

            Emporia Kansas is our next stop with Shayla taking Winners Bitch under Kenneth Buxton. Sunday Shayla makes a clean sweep of things by taking Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, and Best of Breed under Judge J.R. White.  Congrads to a very happy Chuck Larson.  Ann-e pulls a repeat of Shayla's wins by taking Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best Opposite both days.  Jasper remains on top with Best of Breed awards both days..  Thank you for an oustanding performance by all.!!
 
             May 5th - 8th is a winning circuit for Paws Up exhibitors.  Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani takes 3 Best of Breeds which gives him a huge boost to the top of the rankings.  Ann-e, another wonderful girl from Tenderland kennels is awareded 5 Winners Bitch placements, and 2 Best of Winners/Best Opposite.  She gaines 5 points to nearly complete her championship.  Let's not forget Zach.  Keeping up to true form he acquires 2 more points by going Winners Dobe and Best of Winners.  Congratulations to Karen, Ken for all of their hard work!

              Harrison Arkansas is out last stop for April.  Leilani's Rock n Roll aka Vinnie again takes Winners dog and is awarded another point towards his championship.  Sharing the glory again is Zach.  He takes Winners Dog Best of Winners under Chuck Trotter.  Dobes aren't the only winners this weekend.  Wison, Ch. Signet's Forever in Blue Jeans is awarded Best of Breed under Joe Gregory and Mrs. Trotter.  Wilson goes on to take a Group 2 under Joe Gregory.  A great job waas done by all and congratulations to Marcy, Amanda, Jerimiah, and Mary!

                April 29th and 30th we are guests of Beaumont Texas.  Jasper again is the big winner with two Best of Breeds under Judges Kenneth Buxton and Alane Gomez.  Thank you for recognizing such fine quality.  Thank you Jasper for putting your heart and soul into the show ring Eve's red girl, Keri, took Winners Bitch for another point under Judge Kenneth Buxton.  Congratulations Eve and Keri!

                April 15th we are headed for Grove OK.     Judges Mrs. Forsyth, Mr. Frederikson, and Mrs. Pimlott all found the spectacular quality in Jasper.  Still remaining Number 1 German Pinscher, he continues to shine.  Vinnie, Leilani's Rock n Roll, is a big winner from the BBE class taking Winners Dog under Judge Eileen Pimlott.  Zach follows suit by taking Winners Dob and Best of Winners under Mrs. Anna Wanner from the 9-12 class.  Our presence in the Springer ring will not soon be forgotten by taking Winners Bitch and Best of Breed with Dansen Springers.  Keep up the good work!

                Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani makes a clean sweep in DeWitt, IA by taking breed under Edna Gammil and Mr. Kaufman.  The following weekend in Crosby Texas Jasper again takes the breed as well as a Group 4 under Judge Jane Ropollo.  Keep up the good work Jasper and Karen!

                March 26th finds us in Fort Worth at the English Springer Spaniel Specialty.  New on the scene is Megan, proudly owned by Greg Porray.  Megans' first time in the ring leads her off in a big way by taking a 4 pt Major under the expert eye of Judge Steve Keating.  Way to go Megan and handler Karen Mounts.

                We start February off in Hobbs New Mexico.  Jasper, Ch. Severhaus Jasper Leilani, take Best of Breed both days.  Zach is also a big winner by taking Winners Dog and Best Opposite.  Mrs. Clark repeats the award on Sunday for Zach.  Congratulations to Jasper and Zach for an outstanding performance. In the doberman ring at the Abeline showsJudges Purkhiser and Speich both liked our two exhibits in the 6-9 and Bred By Exhibitor classes, Judge Spiech awards newcomer O's Rockets Red Glare, Zach, Winner's Dog and Leilani's Stetson By DeRay, Stetson, Reserve Winner's Dog Saturday. Sunday the roles are reversed by Judge Purkhiser as Stetson takes the points and Zach goes Reserve.

Next its back to Texas and the Abilene Kennel Club shows held at the Taylor County Expo Center where the weekend was very good for the Pawsup team. A huge congratulations go out to Irish Wolfhound Adeline, Mistyglen's Adeline Silverstar, as Sunday Judge Robert Stein awards her Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed to give her the final point needed to complete her American Championship. A Heartfelt congratulations go out to Adeline, her owner Calvin Valentine and Handler Ken Hapgood.
IWH Rose, Tenderland Rose of Manasota, in her first show out with us takes the points and best Opposite under Judge Col Joe Purkhiser.
Jasper, German Pinscher, CH Severhaus Jasper Leilani, continues his breed wins being awarded Best of Breed by both Judges Beth Speich and Col Joe Purkhiser.
English Setter, CH Set'r Ridge's Masterpiece, takes his first breed win for '05 under Mrs Jane Kay.

Also in Greenville, PJ, Leilani's Silk Pajamas, continues her quest for purple as she is awarded Winner's Bitch/ Best Opposite Sex Sunday by Judge Michelle Billings.

January 22 and 23rd find us in Greenville, MS where Sweetie and Jasper aquit themselves very well . With Leilani's Lover's Moon over Lakai taking Winner's Bitch/Best Opposite Sex both days and CH Severhaus Jasper Leilani being awarded Best of Breed both days as well by Judges Charles Trotter and Michele Billings.

Bigger and brighter than ever the Nolan River Kennel Clubs' inaugural '05 shows, in Glen Rose, TX get us off to a great start to the year. Young Champion Lyric, IrishWolfhound Tenderland Song of Eire to Manasota, is awarded Best Opposite both days by Judges George Heitzman and Jane Roppolo. Ms Roppolo also awarded IWH Gerri, Teddy Bear Running of Scurry, Winner's Bitch for a 3 point major.
Jasper , German Pinscher Ch Severhaus Jasper Leilani, kicks off his year adding another Best of Breed win under Judge Rick Chashoudian. Mindy , our all natural German Pinscher, Lakai Summer Moon, in her first show takes the purple ribbon for a 3 point major.
Our new Basenji Special CH Signet's Forever in Blue Jeans is awarded Best Opposite by Judge Barbara Alderman on Saturday. The following day Judge Jane Roppolo judges him Best of Breed.
Lhasa puppy, Halo, Cuddles Bearly an Angel, in his first weekend out from the 6-9 class is awarded Winner's Dog and Best of Breed by Judge Barbara Alderman. Congratulations to all our winners this weekend.

Conroe, Texas is the location for this year's final show for the Pawsup team. Saturday in Basenjis, CH Signet's Forever in Blue Jeans, Will, is awarded Best of Breed by Judge Ms Jane Roppollo. In Irish Wolfhounds, Teddi Bear Running of Scurry, Lil' Bear, is awarded Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed. The following day kennel mate, Bo, Player Beau of Valentines takes the top honors by being awarded Winner's Dog, Best of Winners & Best of Breed. Congratulations to all our winners and their owners

The Finnish Spitz National Specialty was held in West Springfield, MA.

In dobes, Friday's competition was good for Leilani's Silk Pajamas, PJ, as Judge Rick Chashoudian hands her the purple and later in the competition the blue and white ribbon for Best of Winners. Congratulations PJ, go git 'em.

We're heading west once again to the good huntin' grounds in Arizona, Yuma to be precise, for a four day cluster. German Pinscher, Jasper, CH Severhaus Jasper Leilani, is awarded the Breed all four days, Stormy, Irish wolfhound, finishes with a resounding 4 point major as he is handed the ribbons for Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed by Judge Joe Tacker. For the remainder of the weekend Stormy takes two Best Opposite Sex awards Saturday and Monday.Glory, Afghan CH Dion Glory Bound, takes the breed points Sunday. under Judge Sr. Navarro.

South to warmer climes and the fall shows at Houston Farm & Ranch where new Special Giant Schnauzer CH Diamond Jazz Queen, Boogie, is awarded Best of Breed on Saturday. Jasper, German Pinscher CH Severhaus Jasper Leilani, is awarded Best of Breed both days. Lyric, Irish wolfhound Ch Song of Eire to Manasota, kicking off her Specials career is awarded Best of Breed Saturday and Sunday. Congratulations to Boogie's proud owner Sue Schools, and well done to Jasper and Lyric.

Our top winner for the Virginia Beach weekend is Afghan Hound, Dion Glory Bound OR should I say; CH. DION GLORY BOUND! Glory took her final major under Judge Patricia Mowbray-Morgan on Sunday October 31, 2004 (Virginia Beach Kennel Club). Karen and Glory moved effortlessly around the ring as if they were dancing. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO GLORY, OWNERS LARRY & DEBORAH AND HANDLER KAREN. GOOD LUCK IN THE SPECIALS RING!

 

Our wiining streak contiinues thoughout the Halloween weekend in Virginia Beach! CH. Severhaus Jasper Leilani is awared Grand Sweeps Winner under Judge Pamela Perdue at the German Pinscher Club of Amercia's National Specialty. We would also like to welcome a new addition to our family. Her name is Leilani's Lovers Moon over Lakai, (Sweetie). She is a red/rust German Pinscher with natural ears and tail. We expect great things from this little lady. PJ, , Leilani's Silk Pajamas takes her first 3pt major under judge Dr. Bianchi. . AM.CH. Leilani's Oh Henry n Legard adds to our weekend of enjoyment by taking the Best of Breed honors under Judge Ms. Frandel Brown. The performance by PJ, Henry, and Jasper was truley poetry in motion.

 

Judge Ronald Spritzer launches PJ, Leilani's Silk Pajamas, quest for the purple by awarding her Winners Bitch Sunday for her first AKC Point., Congratulations PJ good luck with 14 more.

Virginia is next after a brief stop in Kentucky for the Dobe nationals, nuff said. Dion Glory Bound, the afghan takes the points under Judge Edmund Kaufman at the Leesburg KC shows at Oatlands Farm. While Jasper, CH Severhaus Jasper v Leilani, is awarded BOB under Judge Marjorie Tuff. Sunday at the Charlottsville-Albermarle KC Show at Montpelier Station, Jasper is again awarded Best Of Breed by Judge Anita Cuneo. Will, CH Signets Forever in Blue Jeans, takes the Basenji Breed win under Judge Ronald Spritzer. This is Will's first breed win with new handler and ring accomplice Karen Mounts.. Well done Will and Karen the first of many, and thanks to Marcy for entrusting him to us.

Time to wind our way to the far north of this fair land; Bangor, ME is the destination, commencing a five week circuit in the north east. Jon Cole takes a good long look at Glory, Afghan Dion Glory Bound, to award her Winners Bitch/Best Of Breed. Jasper, the German Pinscher CH Severhaus Jasper v Leilani, takes the Breed under Judge RJ Moore and goes on to a Group III from Judge Jon Cole.

Judge Hartinger also recognised the capabilities of Leilani's Stetson by DeRay by awarding him Winners Dog/Best Opposite Sex. Narrowing the gap to his Championship. "Snaps" to Jesse and Karen.

September 10th in Sullivan , MO allows us to brag on a couple of more wins as IWH Adeline, Mistyglens Adeline Silverstar, breaks a dry spell to be handed Winners Bitch/Best Opposite Sex for a 3 point major by Judge Roger Hartinger. Black Russian Terrier Special, ZuZu is awarded Best of Breed by Judge Hartinger. A Nice pair of Wins, thanks to Judge Hartinger

The end of August finds us in Monroe, Louisiana, where Lyric struts her stuff again under Judge Doug Shipley to be handed the ribbons for Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best Opposite Sex and complete the requirements to become an American Champion. YIPEEE, Congratulations, to Karen, Donna, Mike and Ken, How sweet it is,... finished from the Bred By Exhibitor Class
The very next day under Colonel Joe Purkheiser, her first as a Special, she is awarded Best Opposite Sex.

Never to be left out German Pinscher, Jasper, CH Severhaus Jasper v Leilani, takes the Breed all four days under judges Joe Purkheiser, Everett Dean Jr, Dorothy Welsh and Jon Cole, following the win from Judge Cole he goes on to be awarded a Group IV placement by Judge Virginia Lyne.

The last two days of competition see IWH Teddi Bear Running of Scurry, Lil Bear, take both her majors: a 4pt win under Judge Cole and a 3 pt win under Judge Purkheiser. Could Calvin be happier... I don't think so. Well done all.

The second round of the Kansas circuit Thirsday August 19th thru Sunday August 22nd, sees Tangerine, Afghan hound Mtn Spirit Red Sky at Morning take the honors on Friday as she is awarded Winners Bitch for 2 points leaving her needing just a major to finish her American Championship. In the Wolfhound ring the girls go back and forth again as Lyric, Tenderlands Song of Eire to Manasota, is awarded Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best Opposite Sex. Half-brother Stormy, Tenderland Windstorm of Manasota, continues his trek towards Champion as he is awarded Winners Dog for two points and Lyric's brother, Bear, Tenderland Teddy Bear of Manasota, takes Reserve Winners Dog. The next day Lyric wins again, taking Winners Bitch/Best Opposite Sex with her half sister Pleasure, Tenderland Pleasure of Manasota, taking Reserve. Saturday is a turnaround and Pleasure is awarded Winners Bitch/Best Opposite Sex for her 2 points, and forth it goes Sunday as Lyric oncce again is awarded Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/ Best Opposite Sex for 3 points.

Jasper, CH Severhaus Jasper v Leilani, takes the purple and gold all four days under judges Betti Krause, Bernard Schwartz, Loraine Boutwell and Francine Schwartz. Once again congratulations to all our winners for a job well done.

Kicking off a two week circuit at the Manhattan & Topeka KC shows in Topeka, KS August 12th thru 15th. The wolfhounds strut their stuff once again as a different pair take the honors. Tenderland Windstorm of Manasota, Stormy and Tenderland Teddy Bear of Manasota, Bear, lead the way. With Bear awarded Winners Dog/Best of Winners Thursday for a single point, Stormy Friday takes 2 points including Best of Winners, He repeats this Saturday for another single, and Sunday takes the 2 points again as he is awarded Winners Dog in his third consecutive show.

The girls not to be left behind perform equally as well. Tenderlands Song of Eire to Manasota, Lyric, is awarded Winners Bitch/Best Opposite Sex for a single Thursday, While Pleasure, Tenderland Pleasure of Manasota, is awarded the same both Friday and Saturday, then Lyric does it again on Sunday. Congratulations to Donna and Karen and well done to all the wolfhounds..

For the remainder of the crew newcomer Australian Shepherd, Slydrock Catch a Marquis, holds his own in the 6-9 class placing each day.

Well enough of the vacation, it's back to work and play in the ring. At the Corpus Christe shows August 7th & 8th, Adeline, Irish Wolfhound, Mistyglens Adeline Silverstar, is awarded Winner's Bitch/ Best of Breed under Judge Chuck Herendeen, and the followong day kennel mate Jerri, Jerusha's Pretty Girl, is awarded Winner's Bitch/ Best of Breed by Judge Joe Purkheiser. Congratulations to owner Calvin valentine and well done Adeline and Jerri.

While Karen & Ken were cavorting around Australia, German Pinscher Severhaus Jasper vLeilani, Jasper was hard at work with his new friend Erin Roberts, With wins from Montana to Houston the judges keep reaffirming their preference for this spunky newcomer.
In Montana 6-18 thru 6-22 Judges Mrs Sinclair, J.T. Connaly, Everett Dean Jr. Bob Vandiver & Mrs LK Davis all awarded Jasper Best of Breed
In Oklahoma 6-24 thru 6-27 Mrs Davis, Madeline Fish, Mr Davis and Vincent Grosso gave him additional Best of Breeds.
San Antonio, TX . July 8 thru 11 Judges Joe Gregory, Harry Smith, Jr. and Marion Hoddeson all add to his Best of Breed stats
Then on to Houston, TX July 16 thru 18 where Dorothy Collier, Charles Trotter and Alberto Berrios raise his best of Breed count even higher.

It's only right and proper that being good "Dog People" even when you go on a trip to Australia you would just have to go to a dog show. During our recent visit to the "land down under" we were fortunate enough to attend the Canine Association of Western Australia's Winter Classic at their picturesque facilty in Southern River,
With perfect weather for an outdoor show it was an exciting weekend with some great competition and a chance to meet some wonderful new friends. My sincere thanks to the West Aussies for extending such jovial hospitality.

 

May 22, Shawnee OK is a day that Joey and Rebecca Ames will not soon forget. Their male doberman, Leilani's Lucky Charms (sired by Int'l, SKC, UCICB Ch. Leilani's Kauai CDX,OA,NAJ,AAT,CGC,HIT,HIC) received his 3rd leg to acquire his CD title. The story here is that Magic qualified 3 out of 4 trials under his breeder/handler Karen Mounts.

Stetson, Leilani's Stetson by DeRay is not to be left out of this award winning weekend as he takes Winners Dog/Best of Winners under Judge Linda Fowler to put him one step closer to his AKC championship.

Shawnee OK, May 21-24, proves to be a real title holder. Jasper, Severhaus Jasper v Leilani shows his heart out. At nine months of age the judges cannot stop talking about this showy little German Pinscher. He is awarded Winners Dog/Best of Breed on day one. Judge Francine Scwartz has the priveledge of completing Jaspers requirments to obtain his AKC Championship by giving him Winners Dog/Best of Breed (over specials) for the major. Irish Wolfhound, Tenderlands Song of Eire to Manasota shown from the Bred By Exhibitor class convinces Judge Linda Stebbins to award her Winner's Bitch/Best Opposite Sex.

Afghan Hound Glory, Dion Glory Bound, from the 9 -12 class is awarded consecutive wins on the 13th & 14th by going Winner's Bitch/ Best Opposite Sex under Judges Stebbins and Schwartz. On the 15th she is awarded the points by Judge Sandra Fikes who tops off Glory's day with a Best Of Breed. To round out the weekend Judge Killcullen again awards her the points and Best Opposite Sex.

Pleasure, Irish Wolfhound, Tenderlands Pleasure of Manasota, also has a fine weekend as she racks up three consecutive wins. Judge Francine Schwartz awarding her Winner's Bich /Best of Winners, Col. Purkhiser gives her Winners Bitch; and Mr. Kilcullen puts the icing on the cake by awarding this young newcomer with Winners Bitch/Best of Winners/Best of Breed.

Bear, Irish Wofhound, Tenderland Teddy Bear of Manasota, was not to be overlooked. Judge Linda Stebbins and Col. Purkhiser award this young pup Winners Dog/Best of Winners. Mr. Kilcullen follows suit on the 16th by awarding Bear the purple - Winners Dog.

The second leg of the Arizona circuit takes us to Scottsdale's Westworld. Irish Wolfhound Tenderland Farms Golden Girl (GG) takes the points Sunday Feb 29th as she's awarded Winner's Bitch/Best of Winners for a 5 point major, which leaves her with just 2 points needed to finish. Jasper, German Pinscher Severhaus Jasper V Leilani, the hot new winner on the circuit, continues his winning streak taking Best of Breed all 4 days from the 6-9 puppy class.
To test out the new dog show cruiser a 40ft 1970 GMC coach being converted into a motor home, we just had to go on a "ROAD TRIP"! What better place to go than Arizona.. Starting out the circuit in Tuscon at the Alle Rasse international shows, all six dogs that went recieved UCI titles. The awardees were, in the puppy classes, Afghan Hound, Dion Glory Bound (Glory) who also went Best Of Breed Puppy all three shows, Italian Greyhound, Mancols Extravagant Gesture (Echo) who also was awarded BOB Puppy for the three shows, Doberman Pinscher, Gile's Black Diamond (Diamond) who was awarded Best Male Puppy for the three shows and Doberman Pinscher, Kejon's Black Velvet (Shaka), who was awarded BOB Puppy. Shaka also went on to be awarded Group I's for all three shows. Being further awarded a Resereve Best In Show - Puppy for show 2 and Best In Show - Puppy in show 3.
For the adults, Irish Wolfhound Tenderland Farms Golden Girl (GG) and Tenderland's Next Generation (Gena) are both awarded their UCICB International titles. Congratulations to all the weekends winners and new title holders.

After sitting out for 8 months waiting for majors. Ali, Mahdi's Good Golly It's Ali, is awarded Winners Dog for a 3 point major to complete his Amercian Championship at just 19 months of age, in a well deserved win under Judge Karin Ashe. Ali is shown the rest of the circuit as a "Special" just for fun. However in probably the best win of the circuit, 4 year old Briana Fraire, Karen's Granddaughter and budding handler, shows Ali in Breed competition under Judge Mrs P.B. To close out the year we head west to Arizona for the fall/winter circuit starting November 13th in Tuscon. and continuing through Goodyear Nov 22nd & 23rd. and finishing in Yuma on Dec 1st. It was a mixed bag of results with most dobes either winning their class or placing against good competition. In Goodyear PJ, Leilani's Silk Pajamas, is awarded Best Puppy by Judge Mrs Capstick. It was a weekend of near misses for a lot of exhibitors as in excess of 50 dobermans competed for the points and the top honors October 30th thru Nov 2nd in Ft Wayne, IN at the Old Fort Cluster. On Sunday Judge Edd Biven takes a good look at Envy and awards her the points. Determined not to be left out Amber, CH Leilani's Kit Kat N Legard, puts on a great showing to be awarded Best of Breed, Judge Sonny Ambrosio continues this winning trend and awards her the Working Group.

Then once again north for the Idaho/Montana circuits with huge majors available. The Sooner Circuit in Oklahoma City May 1st thru the 4th was a very sucessful weekend as Ali, Afghan Hound Mahadi's Good Golly It's Ali, took Winners Dog all 4 days and Best of Winners the first three to add another 3 points toward his championship, Buzz, Flat-coated Retriever Savvy's Moonraker also has a good weekend being awarded Winner's Dog two of the three times he was shown.

It is with regret that we miust announce that Buzz died May 9th, We extend out deepest sympathies to Lisa and her family for the loss of a true friend, companion and wonderful show dog.

It's always interesting to do the Ft Worth shows in late March to see what sort of idiosy the kennel clubs will come up with. This year it was back to back aisle crating with NO grooming space, maybe next year they'll suspend the exhibitors from the ceiling; be able to fit a lot more in that way.

The 127th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show held in New York, NY at Madison Square Gardens Feb 10th & 11th saw a huge variety of results and win or lose it is very hard to treat it as"just another dog show".

The second annual Eucanuba Classic held in Orlando, Florida Dec 11th saw both Finnish Spitz, KC, Ch Icecaps Crowns Prince of Pauper and Irish Wolfhound, CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan, Cal-E recieve invitations to participate. The big news of the weekend was Amber's win at the Sioux Empire KC show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Sunday as she is awarded Winners Bitch/Best of Winners by judge Paula Neikle for a 5 point major her first AKC points. In true Cal-E style, Irish Wolfhound, CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan is awarded Best of Breed in consecutive shows by judges Stephen Hubble and Joe Gregory, with Judge Helen Lee James awarding her a Group I Saturday and Judge Chuck Herendeen giving her a Group II on Sunday.

Eve now needs just one single point to finish. Congratulations to Owner Sue DeCaro and Handler Karen Mounts and a big "well done" to Eve on winning her 3rd major.
So now comes the really good bit. In Kansas City, Missouri the Heart of America Cluster was held the weeeknd of August 23rd thru 25th. as Eve, Leilani's Belive N Dreams is awarded Winner's Bitch/ Best of Winners for a 3 point major by Judge Kathleen O'Steen. Sunday's Singing River KC show went well for Kira, Multi BPIS /JU.A/ AM CH Leilani's Dangerous Curves where Judge Maxine Beam awarded her Best of Breed. Kira's first Breed win as a special. The previous Friday she was awarded BOS by Judge Jim Briley.

The Dolphin Cluster held in Biloxi, MS, August 2nd thru the 5th was good for Cal-E, CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan as she is awarded four consecutive Best of Breeds and takes two third place in group under Judges James White and Janet Wilcox.
Ali, Afghan Hound, Mahadi's Good Golly It's Ali, after taking Reserve Winner's Dog the first three days is rewarded with Winner's Dog for his first AKC championship point , by Judge Skip Herendeen.
In his first weekend out Flat-coated Retriever, Buzz, Savvy's Moonraker, is awarded Winner's Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Breed Sunday by Judge Ikeda.

In Dobes the big winner of the weekend was Dodge, Leilani's Like a Rock, as he is awarded Winner's Dog, Best of Winners by Judge Pat Doniere. In the breed competition Kira, Multi BPIS /JU.A/ AM CH Leilani's Dangerous Curves , is awarded Best Opposite both days..

 

The Longview Kennel Club shows, July 27th & 28th, were good for KC, Finnish Spitz, CH Icecaps Crowns King of Pauper, who was awarded Best of Breed Saturday by Judge Timothy Robbins and again on Sunday by Judge Mrs Elaine Rigden who also went on to award him a Group III placement in the Non-Sporting Group. Congratulations to KC and Karen for a job well done.
Newcomer to the show ring, 6 month old Afghan , Ali, Mahadi's Good Golly It's Ali, is awarded Winner's Dog both days, continuing his winning start to his show career.
Houston also saw Myôs, Icecaps Crowns Phantom Myôs, once again awarded Winner's Dog under Judge Catherine Di Santiago.
The very first show for Afghan puppy, Mahadi's Good Golly It's Ali, saw him awarded Reserve Winner's Dog by Judge Di Santiago and the following day he is awarded Best of Breed Puppy by Judge Dorothy Nickles. Keep up the good work Ali, and congratulaions to proud owners Bill and Jody Turner.
Cal-E, Irish Wolfhound , CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan is also a winner at the Reliant series as she is awarded Best of Breed By Judge Martorella on Friday. and GG, Tenderland Farms Golden Girl, is awarded Winner's Bitch on the same day.

From San Antonio its on to Houston and the new Reliant Park series where Kira, Multi BPIS /JU.A/ AM CH Leilani's Dangerous Curves is awarded Best Opposite Sex on Sunday, July 21st. Congratulations Kira on your first award as a "Special"

A hectic circuit for all competitors always starts with the summer series in San Antonio but it was a very sucessful one for Cal-E, Irish Wolfhound , CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan as she is awarded consecutive Best of Breeds July 11th thru July 13th, but the crowning glory was the awarding of two Best In Show Brace with sister Tenderland Farms Golden Girl, GG, at the Bexar County KC shows Friday and Sunday. Congratulations to owner Donna Robinson, to handler Karen Mounts and the Dynamic Duo of Cal-E and GG.
KC, Finnish Spitz, CH Icecaps Crowns King of Pauper also does very well in San Antonio as Thursday July 11th he is awarded Best of Breed by Judge Edward Kaufmann and does it again on Sunday under Judge Barbara Alderman. Kennel-mate, Myôs, Icecaps Crowns Phantom Myôs, is also awarded Winners Dog at the same two shows. Congratulations to owners Diane and Shelby Helland and handler Karen Mounts.

A successful weekend in North Dakota also for Cal-E, Irish Wolfhound , CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan as she is awarded Best Of Breed Friday by Judge Virginia Hampton and Saturday by Judge Helen Miller Fisher, Cal-e goes on to be awarded a Group III by Judge Michelle Billings. Thanks to these judges who have contributed to Cal-E gaining and maintaining her ranking as the nation's #1 Irish Wolfhound Bitch and overall #3 in Breed. Congratulations go out again to owner Donna Robinson and handler Karen Mounts.

We would have been very happy to have left North Dakota with our new American Champion UCICB/CAC Leilani's Hi Jinks, CD, CGC, but there was another event in store. On the final day's showing Multi BPIS JA, JU.A Leilani's Dangerous Curves wonderfully handled by Karen Mounts is awarded Winner's Bitch/Best Opposite Sex by Judge Kenneth Buxton for a 4 point major to finish her American Championship. A heartfelt thank you to Mr Buxton, to handler Karen Mounts and congratulations to Kira's proud owners.

From Mississippi to North Dakota for the Fargo-Moorehead Kennel Club series in Fargo, ND to commence a very successful weekend.
After having sat out for nearly three years due to a foot injury, surgeries and rehabiltation, Joker, UCICB/CAC Leilani's Hi Jinks, CD, CGC in a truly championship performance is awarded Winners Dog/Best Of Winners for a 4 point major to clinch his American Championship by Judge Helen Miller Fisher. Grateful thanks to Mrs Fisher for recognising Joker's movement and attitude, to Karen for persevering with a dog who was always worthy of finishing. Joker's championship is dedicated to the memory of his co-owner Barbara Hapgood, (1944 - 1999)

 

Leilani's Like a Rock has a great weekend in Tupelo MS as he is awarded consecutive Best Of Breeds at all three shows, and a Group IV placement by Judge Mr Fancy. Well done Dodge keep up the good work.

May 10th thru 19th takes us off to Mississippi , where in Tupelo Cal-E, Irish Wolfhound , CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan is awarded Best of Breed and a Group III by Judge Robert Berndt, Mrs Jane Forsyth also awards her a Best of Breed later that weekend, In Biloxi she is again awarded Best of Breed by Judge Del Richards. In a wonderful spectacle of movement and sycopation Cal-E, CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan and GG, Tendeland Farms Golden Girl, strut their stuff in the brace competitions to be awarded Best Brace In Show bravely handled by Karen Mounts. In Biloxi, KC, Finnish Spitz, CH Icecaps Crowns King of Pauper, is awarded Best of Breed and a Group IV by Judge Charles Herendeen, as well as consecutive Best of Breeds by Judges Nancy Fingerhut and Charles Mulock. Back in the dobe ring agian in Gray Summit, MO. as Kira Multi BPIS JA, JU.A Leilani's Dangerous Curves on her quest for that elusive major to finish her championship is awarded Winners Bitch May 3rd by Dr Ralph Graff and Winners Bitch/Best of Winners May 4th by Judge Jim Briley. Off to Grove, OK April 13 & 14 for the Northeast Oklahoma Kennel Club's two day weekend. Dubya, Boston Terrier, Bailie's George Dubya in what is now his third weekend out is awarded a further two points to make his collective total, six shows, six points, Way to go Karen & Dubya. Our two Finnish Spitz specials go head to head yet again and in a total reversal of last weekends results, Cisco, CH Icecaps Chankita Sunrise, comes out on top both days as she is awarded Best Of Breed with KC, CH Icecaps Crowns King of Pauper going Best Opposite. To round out the weekend Irish WolfHound, Cal-E, CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan is awarded Best of Breed at both shows . Well done to all our winners.

The 36th Anniversary series of shows April 6th & 7th in Crosby Tx. hosted by the San Jacinto KC provided a backdrop for a great weekends showing as Flash, Pointer, Pamelot's Da'Man Wild Spirits, is awarded Winners Dog and Best Opposite Sex By Judge Arley Hussin to complete his American Championship. The International Kennel Club of Chicago, in conjunction with Park Shore and Blackhawk KCs, hosted its annual cluster at the downtown Chicago McCormick Center Feb 21st - 24th. Kira, Multi BPIS JA, JU.A Leilani's Dangerous Curves expertly presented by owner/handler Karen Mounts is awarded Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Opposite to RP at Thursday's show by Breeder/Judge Irene Bivin. The following day she takes Winners again under Judge Donald Booxbaum.

The IABCCA shows held at the Triple Crown Dog Academy in Hutto, TX are always fun to participate in. Three shows in two days is a lot but this weekend it was well worth it as Dreamer comes away with three Best in Show Puppy, Bred By Exhibitor awards, in addition she also completes her National Puppy Jungsten Championship, Congratulations Multi BPIS-BBE JU.A Leilani's Cocktails 'n' Dreamz.
While Dreamer was the big winner following in her mother and aunts footsteps, her father Marty is never to be left out as he is awarded, Best of Breed three times and a Reserve Best In Show as well as his International Championship as he becomes UCICB Intl CH, Can CH, AM CH Dobenhaus Rimbaud of Fabert, CD.
Other big winners this weekend were Irish Wolfhound, CH Tenderlands KD Cal-E Callahan , Cal-E, who took three Best of Breed and completed her International title.
Cisco, Finnish Spitz, CH Icecaps Chankita Sunrise who also took three Best of Breed and became an International Champion.
UCICB Intl CH Leilani's Hi Jinks, CD, CGC ,Joker, who rounds out his awards with a CAC National Championship.
Kira, Multi BPIS JU.A Leilani's Dangerous Curves, who completed her Jungend Championship, JA, and took Reserve Best In Show as well as 2 Best Of Breed Puppy awards.

Kira and Dreamer make waves at the DPC of the Indian Nation show Wednesday, Oct 17th with Leilani's Dangerous Curves placing Winner's Bitch/Best of Winners and Leilani's Cocktails 'n' Dreamz being awarded Best of Breed, Bred By Exhibitor.
At the Mid-Del Tinker KC show the following day Kira again is awarded WB/BOW and for the third day in a row on Friday, Oct 19th at the Oklahoma City KC show she takes the points once again with WB/BOW. Congratulations Kira and Dreamer as you come of age..

A new circuit and a new set of wins in the Finnish Spitz ring during the Oklahoma Sooner Circuit; as all four days Cisco, CH Icecaps Chankita Sunrise, is awarded Best Opposite Sex and Saturday, Oct 20, The same day Leia, IceCaps Princess Leia, is awarded Winner's Bitch/Best of Winners. However the winning didn't stop there because on Sunday Karaoke, Crowns Icecaps Karaoke, is awarded Winners Dog/Best of Winners for a 4 point major by Judge Bill Cunningham, to become a new American Champion at just 7 months of age, his career giving him 2, 3 point majors and 1, 5 point major.

Overnight the heavens opened and tuned the show site into a quagmire but despite all the rain and mud on Saturday, Leilani's Cocktailz 'n' Dreamz, Dreamer is awarded Winners Bitch/Best of Winners and half sister Leilani's Dangerous Curves, Kira is awarded Best of Breed Puppy by Judge Betty Leininger then in Puppy Group Kira is awarded a Group II placement again by Judge Leininger.

Friday was also a big day in Dobermans as Marty, AM/CAN CH Dobenhaus Rimbaud of Fabert, CD, is awarded Best of Breed by Judge Mrs Linda Krukar. Very well done by the monumental team of Karen & Marty.

The following day at the first of the Greater Shelby KC shows to kick off the 6th annual St Jude Showcase of Dogs, Icecaps Crowns Prince of Pauper, KC, is awarded Winners Dog for a 5 point major to complete his American Championship and Best of Winners and Cisco is again awarded Best Opposite Sex by Judge Molly Martin. Congratulations to KC and Karen on their hard work and congratulations to owners Diane and Shelby Helland and Breeder Judith Dolan

A very big and successfull 4 days of showing in Memphis, TN.Thursday Oct 11th thru Sunday Oct. 14th. commencing with the Finnish Spitz 2001 National Specialty held at the Agricenter/Shelby farms complex as Crowns Icecaps Karaoke is awarded Best Puppy and CH Icecaps Chankita Sunrise, Cisco, in a repeat of last years specialty, is awarded Best Opposite Sex by Judge Mrs Betty Leininger

Not to be out done CH Ice Caps Chankita Sunrise, Cisco, is again awarded Best of Breed by Judge Miss Betsy Leedy, she is then awarded a Group 4 by Judge Mr R.W. Taylor, to date the only group placement by a Finnish Spitz bitch this year. Well done Karen and Cisco on a very deserving performance. Congratulations also to owner Diane Helland.

The next day at the Texas KC show Beauty, Tenderlands WC Irish Beaut-E, is again awarded Winners Bitch followed by Best of Winners for a major win to complete her Championship by Judge Ms Elaine Rigden, Congratulations to New Champion Tenderlands WC Irish Beaut-E, her owner Donna Robinson and handler Karen Mounts.

Two nice wins at the Fort Worth KC show Saturday September 22nd as firstly CH Ice Caps Chankita Sunrise is awarded Best of Breed under Judge Mr R.W. Taylor. Secondly Tenderlands WC Irish Beaut-E is awarded Winners Bitch under Judge Ms Nadene Johnson. Congratulations Cisco and Beauty on two great wins.

September 15th at the Rocherster KC in MN, Leilani's Unlimited Mileage, Sheeba, is awarded Winners Bitch, Best of Winners by Judge Wayne Bousek. But to cap it all she is also awarded Best of Breed, Congratulations Sheeba, and many thanks to Handler Erin Henlin-Hall for doing a wonderful job with Sheeba.

Despite the mud and thundershowers Kira, Leilani's Dangersous Curves, puts on spectacular showings to be awarded Winners Bitch at both Prescott Arizona KC shows Saturday and Sunday Sept. 15th & 16th. but the winning doesn't stop there as Judge Mr. Clay Cody awards her BOS on Saturday and Judge Mrs Gloria Knapp goes on to award her BOW/BOS for a total of 4 points for the weekend. Way to go, Kira!

In the German Shorthaired Pointer ring Ehrenvogel Just a Little Dare, Mila is awarded Winners Bitch all four days of the Labor day weekend in Monroe.

At the Heart of America KC show on August 26th, Irish Wolfhound Cal-e, CH Tenderland's KD Cal-E Callahan , is awarded Best Of Breed by Judge Prof. Doug Taylor.

It was a fun, exciting, and eventful weekend of competition at the 2 day 3 show IABCAA cluster hosted by the Alle Rasse Gruppe at Triple Crown Dog Academy in Hutto, Tx June 30 and July 1 as Kira, Leilani's Dangerous Curves, completes her Jungsten 6-9 mo. puppy International Champion Title. At all three shows she was awared Best of Breed Puppy and advanced to Groups.
